I think I made a mistake and went with a $50 pair of wireless headphones. Not so bad, but probably need noise canceling instead of wireless. Havn't been able to find any that do both yet.
I use iphone and mostly listen to podcasts instead of music. When I do listen to music it's rap and sounds fine, but there's a little too much crackling when listening to podcasts, not so good.
I'd take 'em back. The static is probably because the transmitter is totally underpowered (very likely) and because almost everything "wireless" that doesn't use infra-red (very few) uses the same frequency (2.4 ghz) that all microwave ovens and nearly all wireless routers use.
In other words, someone using a microwave oven (especially an older one) within about 50 feet or so (sometimes more) will create "static"... and if you are sitting near a wireless router, IT can create static... and because 2.4 ghz is not a FCC-controlled frequency, any other stuff transmitting radio signals nearby can also "leak" into the same frequency as your headphones (the FCC doesn't require manufacturers to prevent devices from leaking over into uncontrolled frequencies.)
That crap can be filtered out, but building a headset with that capability is going to drive the price through the roof.
I'd need a really, really good reason to even consider wireless headphones right now, the only ones I've seen with decent sound fidelity use an alternative frequency or infra-red (which only works well over very short distances) and are wildly expensive.
